DIY Teams Room

Objective:
To modernize the organization's conference rooms by implementing a cost-effective DIY Microsoft Teams Room solution, leveraging existing hardware to streamline business communication and improve operational efficiency.
 

Scope:
This project encompasses the following activities:
 

1. Hardware Preparation:

   • Utilize existing hardware, including a desktop, touchscreen monitor, and TV, to create a functional Teams Room setup.

   • Ensure all hardware is properly configured and optimized for conferencing purposes.
      

2. Software Setup:

   • Install and configure the "Skype Room System" software on the designated desktop.

   • Create an XML configuration file with necessary variables such as <SkypeSettings>, <SkypeSignInAddress>, and <ExchangeAddress>.

   • Save the XML file in the appropriate directory to enable seamless software functionality.
      

3. Microsoft 365 Integration:

   • Configure resource accounts in Microsoft 365 Admin for use with the conferencing system.

   • Establish secure and effective communication between the Exchange account and the conferencing software.
      

4. Testing and Validation:

   • Conduct thorough testing to ensure the system operates correctly and meets conferencing requirements.

   • Address any issues related to hardware or software performance.
      

5. User Training and Documentation:

   • Provide training for employees to use the Teams Room system effectively.

   • Deliver detailed documentation on system configuration, usage, and troubleshooting.
      

Deliverables:

• A fully operational DIY Microsoft Teams Room system.

• Documentation detailing hardware and software setup, configuration files, and operational guidelines.

• Trained employees capable of utilizing the system for seamless conferencing.
